Rod Stewart grappling with legal action

    September 9th, 2010 by admin

The British singer / songwriter Rod Stewart , 64 , faces a lawsuit for $ 3.2 million (Front Row King) on non-payment of fees to one of the best known law firms in the United States , the Glaser , Weil , Fink , Jacobs , Howard Shapiro , based in Los Angeles.

According to local press , Stewart was represented by that group of lawyers in several cases of canceled concerts and their applications for compensation and a court battle with the organizers of a tour through South America in 2004 , which was also canceled, rise to a claim for $ 2.1 million (1.4 million) by way of compensation for damages.

Shares of sums in which the musician was defended by the law firm now wants to get the work done . The Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs, & Howard Shapiro argues that sent several invoices for the singer, but that none was paid nor Stewart gave no explanation for the alleged breach of its commitments with their legal representatives. Result: The law firm had enough of waiting and finally go to court to try to collect the debt , plus interest and a claim for compensation.

A spokesman for the English musician , whose personal fortune is estimated at about 108 million, declined to make any comments on the subject.
