Girls and Guitars

I love watching girls rock out on the guitar! I wonder who the best female guitar player is? I don’t really remember seeing too many female guitar players. Can anyone help with this? I think back in the 90’s there was a group called Letter to Cleo but I am not sure if they had a female guitar player. I wonder why more women don’t play electric guitar? My nieces are hooked on the new guitar hero that just came out. I am hoping someday they will pick up a real guitar and start rocking out for real. Until then I will just have to watch them pretend.
