McNamara Will Go Down In History

Robert McNamara’s name will go down in the history books with regard to the auto industry and that is recognized by many that comment both in the media and on the many Car Forums today. In 1946 McNamara joined Ford Motor Company after serving in the US army. Ford was in dire straits and McNamara had a reputation of being a great planner and organiser. He helped the company to stop its losses and administrative chaos by implementing modern planning, organization and management control systems. He advanced rapidly through a series of top-level management positions. He went onto move into politics and certainly made a name for himself there as well.
