My husband and I collected a pretty good haul from our respective friends and relatives, even though we didn’t register anywhere or do anything like asking for gifts. There were some awesome bottles of wine, some linens of a very respectable thread count, and even a spa gift certificate (for warding off the seven-year itch, I presume). I am, for the first time in my life, the owner of a crock pot, courtesy of the mother-in-law. I’ve got to at least keep it visible for when she comes to visit, but I’m having a hard time getting inspired to cook something in there. I have visions of something very overcooked and of indeterminate texture. I did find a blog with a few interesting (in-a-good-way) sounding crockpot chicken recipes I might try.
