Being the primary care giver for an elderly parent is a difficult situation at best. Add working part-time, raising a family, and running a household to the mix and you have a guaranteed recipe for stress. It has become apparent that my husband feels neglected because so much of my time is taken up caring for my mother, the children, or working. I decided that I can’t let my marriage suffer, so we are going away for a few days. My sister-in-law volunteered to let the kids stay with her, but I need someone to care for my mom.
