    Peruvian Traditions

    February 17th, 2010 by admin

One of the most common Peruvian traditions involves funeral art. Peruvian funeral art frequently portrays how the deceased person lived and the activities that they enjoyed. It tells their life through the artwork. Sometimes, Peruvian funeral art will be of the artists interpretation of what the netherworld is like.If you visit old Peruvian graveyards, you will most likely see colorful and unusual grave stones or markers. The tradition was to carve an intricate picture into the headstone. These are sometimes colorful too. Some of these pictures and carvings have religious significance and show the depth of faith that the deceased individual had.
